A Mexican-American female artist who was raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
Her work is characterized by geometric patterns, vibrant colors, and dried collaged paint. She has developed her collage technique to create geometric shapes with distinct textures, which nods to the Pierta Dura technique. Cruz plays with the translucent behavior of color, particularly inks, and uses them to build an illusion of depth throughout her pieces.
Cruz received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
